Expression

Blood moves
by the beating drum.

Breath flows
from the inner wings.

Words drift
through air to ear.

Language vibrates
in the shadows.

Thank you all for your comments both last week and this week. I didn't mean to post this again. I didn't have a poem to post this week and when posting Charles' poem I accidently posted mine from last week. So many of you saw this...if you didn't I'm glad you came by this week. :-)

  5. Delicate phrasing, yet direct and descriptive, and almost oriental in simplicity. Very nice indeed.

  10. So much said here. I love it when someone can write in such a way that captures a myriad of expression without the need to carry on at length, the way I tend to do:) Thanks

  11. It is a wonder to see the power of language captured, and embodied, in such a minimalist expression. Yet you tell it true...it vibrates, it resonates - it is the humming foundation of the world.

  14. Dear Joanne

Yes, the words do take the meaning of what we actually feel the reality ... but some how I feel that within so limited scope of the words, we tend to loose reality... I enjoyed your last line... yes, the language than lurks in the shadow... as words do take the center stage...
    thanks for sharing...

  27. I'm glad I came by this week. Such subtle expressions yet they pack a punch, feeling the hum of each line. Language vibrates through the emotiveness of the speakers, the breaking and the spaces, the style of which is spoken or written, transcends merely understanding words used.

    Really like this poem.
